On a late afternoon shoot at Kapalua, one of Hawai’i’s many idyllic beaches, the gentle swirling created by the ebb and flow of the tide caught my eye. By using a vertical composition I was able to create the effect of a seamless union between the ocean and the sand. The setting sun lit up the foreground rocks like stepping stones to the horizon.
