Canyon de Chelly, Arizona
In a remote part of the Arizona desert I spent two days searching for the perfect shot of the sun-baked cliffs and the incredible Indian dwellings in the area. I finally discovered this perfect spot – these ancient homes emerged from the stone like a temple to the sun. As the afternoon light threatened to disappear, I rushed to set up my camera and capture the fiery glow bursting from the rock face. I could feel the ghosts of the Navajo Indians that had made this place their home – towering above me from the red cliffs. It was truly breathtaking and a moment I have treasured over the years.
